Coyote Loop Trail

The Coyote Canyon Trail, or Coyote Loop Trail, is a great open trail on the north eastern hills of Heber Valley. It is primarily a biking trail, stretching past UVU campus and over the hills all the way to highway 32. There are a few different trailheads, the two most prominent being at the intersection of Valley Hills Drive and Coyote Lane, and on the eastern end of the UVU Campus parking lot.

Although the trail is very open (take along enough water!), it is a popular trail for many locals from hiking to running to biking to horseback riding. The entire loop stretches about 22 miles, but there are many loops and switchbacks, along with the multiple trailheads, allowing everyone to make as short or as long of a trip as they’d like.

Along with the ever present sagebrush, the trail boasts a beautiful array of cactus flowers, along with some other surprisingly colorful plantlife. The views of the valley are also stunning. If you’re looking for a trail with a lot of flexibility in distance and use, with a killer view to boot, the Coyote Loop is a great option.
